golden collective vintage shopping party

I'm very (very!) excited to announce that the Golden Collective will be hosting a full-on vintage shopping party this Friday, May 4th, at Asterisk Magazine's headquarters in San Francisco. The entire Golden Collective plus a few friends will be there selling amazing treasures from every decade and sipping champagne. It's going to be our biggest shopping party yet and I've been stockpiling some pretty wonderful pieces just for the occasion, so I hope to see you there!

kiss kiss

A round of purikura silliness with Christina, a fellow appreciator of all things kitsch. We didn't even plan that amazing cardigan clash. I think I should have a full time job as a purikura instructor now that I'm practically fluent in Japanese from using these photo booths so often. And one of these days I'm going to bring my cat with me...

Just hanging out in my favorite pair of vintage men's pajamas with ole' Donut and a mug of tea. Doesn't get much better.

elsewhere

I have officially lost (what's remaining of) my innocence: I am now the proud owner of an iPhone, which means of course that I have joined the cult of Instagram. And I love it! If you'd like a constant barrage of silly photos in your Instagram feed then you should probably start following me here. You can also get an extra dose of Fancy Fineness if you follow me on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. I'm constantly posting things you won't see on the blog, including pretty vintage dresses, shoes I can't afford, and other such fripperies. Follow away!

cat lady dream shoes (for sale!)

Remember these amazing heels from this post? Sadly they are much too small for me, despite having squeezed into them for these photos, and now I'm offering them for sale. They are a US size 10 (or UK size 8) but fit more like a US size 9. I purchased them from ASOS (here) and have only worn them once so they are still in excellent condition. ASOS has sold out of most sizes, including this one, so size 9 ladies who  dig cats: snatch these beauties up! The gray satin-y fabric is covered in the best lady and cat print ever and the chunky heel is perfection. I'm selling them for $60 including shipping (anywhere in the world, payable via Paypal). If you're dying of shoe lust and would like to buy them just contact me at hi@ashleyording.com.

lavender lips, yellow skirt

Photos by Isla!

I've been pretty obsessed with this lavender-hued opaque lipstick from Lime Crime. Quite a few of you were curious to see it in action, so here you go! It goes on pretty dramatically purple so I prefer to blot it on with my finger so the color is a bit more mellow. I think it's a pretty and unexpected alternative to my usual pinks and reds. My girl Isla shot these photos after a coffee date during which we discussed going to New York together in early September to hang out with all the east coast babes (you know who you are). Fingers crossed that we can make it happen!
