a vintage pop-up

I'm so very excited for the upcoming Golden Collective Vintage Pop-Up, although sad that it will be my last sale with these wonderful ladies. There will be seven vintage vendors, lots of champagne, and special guest Tabbisocks. I will be bringing a lot of vintage with me because moving across the country means editing my closets down. So expect some treasures at very good prices!

sidewalk ladies

A few photos from the sidewalk sale I hosted with my fellow Golden Collective ladies a few weeks ago. We had a visit from the adorable Hannah of Heart City Vintage and spent pretty much the entire time goofing around and enticing every cute girl that walked by to stop and peek at our wares. We'll be hosting another vintage pop-up at Asterisk headquarters on July 6th, details about that soon!

vintage fashion faire

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a preview party for the Alameda Vintage Fashion Faire. I rarely miss an opportunity to see a bunch of beautiful vintage pieces in one place, and this particular event had me oohing and ahhing every second. There were over fifty booths filled with treasures from every era, including some of the loveliest lace pieces I've ever seen. I managed to scoot out of there with only two things (a 1960's gingham dress coat and a 1950's yellow polka dot day dress), a small miracle considering how much damage I usually do at these things. Maybe not bringing my giant tote bag with me was a smart move, for my wallet at least! I will share photos of the outfit I wore soon... there was a sequined coat involved that you can see a glimpse of below, my favorite new find.

The highlight of the event was spotting this adorable one-eyed little bud. The cutest.

I have no idea what weird facial expression I was going for here, but I rather liked those glasses.

My style icon for the evening! This lady looked so amazing in her bright pink coat and marabou hat.

This amazing jazz band played on a stage filled with mid-century furniture, so good.

The Golden Collective will be selling once again this Saturday, May 19th, as part of the Valencia Sidewalk Sale in San Francisco. We will be set up in front of DEMA between 21st and 22nd streets from 12 to 7. Come say hello and check out our racks, wink wink!

A photo from the last Golden Collective party, awwwww.

golden collective vintage shopping party

I'm very (very!) excited to announce that the Golden Collective will be hosting a full-on vintage shopping party this Friday, May 4th, at Asterisk Magazine's headquarters in San Francisco. The entire Golden Collective plus a few friends will be there selling amazing treasures from every decade and sipping champagne. It's going to be our biggest shopping party yet and I've been stockpiling some pretty wonderful pieces just for the occasion, so I hope to see you there!

another golden collective sale

For all you vintage lovers: the Golden Collective (which is comprised of Isla, Rachel, Annalise, Jen, and myself) is having another vintage clothing sale this Sunday, March 18th, on Clayton and Fulton in San Francisco. We'll be in the garage on the corner peddling our amazing vintage finds, serving sloppy mimosas, spinning records, and generally being silly. Come say hello and do a bit of shopping, and if you'd like to know more about our collective you can read our Bold Italic interview!

vintage shopping parties

I will be selling vintage at both of these wonderful events this month. The first is another Golden Collective sale with some of my favorite-ever gals this Sunday from 12 to 5PM, complete with champagne and possibly a bunny-cuddling session if you're very good. The second is a larger event that I'm happy to be co-hosting on February 23rd, the All Vintage Everything sale which was organized by the lovely ladies at DNA (designers+artists). There will be happy hour drink specials (hooray!) and possibly even a fancy concoction created by yours truly. Come say hello and find yourself some shiny treasures handpicked by your favorite San Francisco peddlers o' vintage! Hope to see some familiar faces at both events... and some new ones!

golden collective vintage sale

Remember that Vintage Soiree I hosted with Isla, Rachel, Jen & Annalise? Well we're having another sale this Sunday! There will be racks and racks of amazing vintage, lots of champagne, and probably a bit of mischief. This is something we'll be doing the third Sunday of every month (in Jen's garage in San Francisco) under the name Golden Collective, a project we started together so that we could join forces as San Francisco vintage sellers. Hope you can come and take a peek at our treasures!

P.S. You can follow the Golden Collective on Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook!

The admission is free and there will be free drinks, music, and many amazing local designers and artists selling their wares. The location is 1767 Waller Street in San Francisco, about a block from Haight Street. Come say hello and check some buddies off your holiday shopping list!

a vintage soirée, part two

So the first official Vintage Soirée (a pop-up shop collaboration with Isla, Annalise, Jen, and Rachel) happened and it was even better than I expected. We are so totally going to do this monthly, guys! We even came up with a pretty cute name for ourselves, but I'll have to keep that hush hush for now. Our first sale involved many bottles of champagne, tons of cute ladies we lured in by calling out things like "$5 bins, $10 bins!" and lots of trying things on over our clothes. I wore a 1990's romper that was a wee bit short on me and kept flashing my bum (accidentally!) to strangers riding by on the bus. Okay, after a few glasses of champagne I may have been doing it ever-so-slightly on purpose. Anything for a laugh, right?

My outfit for the day: a thrifted 1990's romper that I was planning on selling, but it seemed like the perfect easy thing to thrown on for such a warm day. I paired it with my Fletcher by Lyell heels, a vintage hat found on Etsy, and lots o' pale leg.

Obviously we all had to don floor length prairie dresses for an impromptu photo shoot...
