chocolate lace

dress  vintage

I found this chocolatey brown lace 1960's frock a few weekends ago at the Manhattan Vintage Show and it's already one of my all time favorites. Right now I'm trying to weed through my collection, however, because I know I'll need more room for all the things I will inevitably bring home from the Brimfield flea this weekend!

scraggly

blouse  vintage
hair  needs a brush

This is the current state of my hair: long, tangled, and extra scraggly at the ends. I guess this is not so much the current state as it is the usual. I treated myself to a fancy Mason Pearson brush not too long ago and I've definitely started to use this on a regular basis, but even so my hair still has a mind of its own. No matter how often I brush it out it still twists and turns into this funny, tousled state. There is usually one tiny dreadlock underneath, always in the same exact spot, a result of twisting my hair up into a knot when I'm sick of wearing it down. I keep pondering a semi-drastic change but at the end of the day I feel so tied to my hair in its natural state, despite the imperfection. We'll see if I work up the nerve to go for something different...

antique weekend

A few snaps from a recent weekend excursion to Adamstown, a.k.a. antiques heaven. I visited two flea markets and six antique malls that day but I managed to have some willpower and only brought home a few little trinkets (among them a 1970's daisy necklace and a milk glass flower pot). Next weekend will be a big one for scavenging: I'm going to Brimfield! I can hardly contain my excitement over here, I'm dying to spend two days digging through miles and miles of old stuff. Is anyone else going?

summer lookbook: house of maryanne vintage

The always fantastic House of Maryanne Vintage has inspired once again, this time in the form of an adorable summer lookbook titled 'Good Vibrations.' The punchy colors, sweet vintage pieces and super cute models are all making me long for true summer weather and some pretty new clothes to celebrate! Fortunately HoM has opened an Etsy shop full of perfect finds at reasonable prices and there is something for everyone. In addition to selling vintage, the lovely proprietress Maryanne also creates fun woven tapestries that look like lucky vintage finds but are all handmade with love. The girl is talented, what can I say?

a fancy sale

It's about time I cleared out some of the vintage treasures that have been in the Fancy Fine Vintage shop since I moved across the country so I can make room for new ones! I'm offering 40% off everything, including sale, using the code FANCYFORTY. The code is good through May 17th, so take a peek and snag that piece you've been eyeing all these months! Oh, and please spread the word! xo

hello hello

necklace  vintage
top  vintage

Hello, darlings! I've been a bit of an absentee blogger lately, mostly because I've been consumed with work but also because I haven't felt inspired in those rare moments when I have had the chance to actually take photos. I keep lugging my camera around with me to interesting places without taking a single shot. I have, however, been on a major Instagram kick, which is pretty sad when you think about it. The choice between a beautiful camera and a dumb phone camera and I keep choosing the latter! I've been acquiring so many wonderful vintage pieces lately and I'm itching to share them with you, so I promise this space won't be so quiet in the near future. Until then, follow my adventures on Instagram!

the people's store

A few treasures from one of my favorite east coast antique stores, The People's Store in Lambertville, New Jersey.
