A few shots from a recent trip to Adamstown, a.k.a. the Antiques Capitol of the USA (and my heaven).

antique weekend

A few snaps from a recent weekend excursion to Adamstown, a.k.a. antiques heaven. I visited two flea markets and six antique malls that day but I managed to have some willpower and only brought home a few little trinkets (among them a 1970's daisy necklace and a milk glass flower pot). Next weekend will be a big one for scavenging: I'm going to Brimfield! I can hardly contain my excitement over here, I'm dying to spend two days digging through miles and miles of old stuff. Is anyone else going?

scavenge scavenge scavenge

I took a zillion photos of pretty things when I was in Adamstown but I managed to narrow it down for you, whew! I spent most of the day being completely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things to look at, and the other part of the day was taken over by squeals of delight. During such a squealing session a cute girl happened to recognize me and it turns out to be lovely Amy who owns one of my favorite online vintage shops, Wildfell Hall (um, THIS DRESS). She definitely saw me drooling like a crazy person over the funny purse above (which I now own) but she hid it well and was incredibly sweet. My dad teased me about being recognized in that tiny town the rest of the day and will most likely tease me about it for the rest of my life. Easily amused!

And of course I have to include a few Instagram moments from that day, including one of my favorite Donut shots ever...

the brimfield flea

Last weekend was one of the best weekends ever because I finally got to experience the Brimfield Antique Show. I drove up with three girls that I met at work and after hours in the car and several fast food stops we found ourselves at the beginning of the longest line of tents I've ever seen. Tents for miles. We were there for two days and I think we only managed to see 30% of everything, but oh the bit we did see was beyond amazing! I found a pile of clothes (including one 1960's gold sequined two piece suit that I still cannot believe I own, a tulle 1950's party skirt, and a silk 1930's jacket), some large prints of 1950's food photography, and many random trinkets. I came home covered in dust and slightly pink from the sun but completely satisfied with my first Brimfield adventure.

I tend to buy anything that makes me laugh. And this makes me laugh.

The prettiest, most delicate row of dresses. I lingered here for many minutes admiring them!

I'm such a sucker for anything jadite, I have a small collection that is slowly but surely growing.

Freshly made apple cider donuts, hands down the most delicious treat I've ever eaten.
