belljar lookbook

Photos by Amberlie Bankoff

There are so many things I miss about San Francisco, and one of them is marveling over the lovely goods at BellJar, hands down one of the most perfectly curated boutiques I've ever seen. Sasha Darling, the always glamorous proprietress, fills the space with a mix of new and vintage clothing and home accessories, and these lookbook photos for Fall perfectly capture the romantic vibe of the shop. Fortunately for those of you that can't hop over to the actual shop there's an online version here and Fancy Fine readers can take 20% off anything! All you have to do is like the BellJar Facebook page and send a message (on the same page) asking for the discount code. There is also a mailing list if you want to be informed about the latest pretty pieces, just scroll to the bottom here!

shop showcase: fashion for home

I am finally feeling somewhat settled in my new apartment, but the hunt continues for amazing decorating pieces since I now have twice the amount of space. I seem to be caught between several opposing interior styles: midcentury modern, rustic french country, and ornamental art deco. For some reason I'm equally drawn to all these different styles but smashed all together they can look a bit crazy. When I see a beautiful web site like Fashion For Home I'm reminded of everything I love about modern, midcentury-inspired homes, specifically the clean lines and the bright colors. The furniture is perfectly simple and functional but still interesting and inspiring. Looking through the assortment reminds me that pairing modern with antique is much more fun than choosing just one, especially when the lookbook consists of such wonderfully bold furniture in old, spacious rooms.

You lucky readers have the opportunity to do a bit of decorating yourself because Fashion For Home is offering 15% off any express delivery items using the code 'SAVE-WITH-ASHLEY-US.' If you live in the UK you can shop here using the code 'SAVE-WITH-ASHLEY-UK.' This offer will be good until October 6th!

the brimfield flea

Last weekend was one of the best weekends ever because I finally got to experience the Brimfield Antique Show. I drove up with three girls that I met at work and after hours in the car and several fast food stops we found ourselves at the beginning of the longest line of tents I've ever seen. Tents for miles. We were there for two days and I think we only managed to see 30% of everything, but oh the bit we did see was beyond amazing! I found a pile of clothes (including one 1960's gold sequined two piece suit that I still cannot believe I own, a tulle 1950's party skirt, and a silk 1930's jacket), some large prints of 1950's food photography, and many random trinkets. I came home covered in dust and slightly pink from the sun but completely satisfied with my first Brimfield adventure.

I tend to buy anything that makes me laugh. And this makes me laugh.

The prettiest, most delicate row of dresses. I lingered here for many minutes admiring them!

I'm such a sucker for anything jadite, I have a small collection that is slowly but surely growing.

Freshly made apple cider donuts, hands down the most delicious treat I've ever eaten.
