a vintage pop-up

I'm so very excited for the upcoming Golden Collective Vintage Pop-Up, although sad that it will be my last sale with these wonderful ladies. There will be seven vintage vendors, lots of champagne, and special guest Tabbisocks. I will be bringing a lot of vintage with me because moving across the country means editing my closets down. So expect some treasures at very good prices!

vintage fashion faire

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a preview party for the Alameda Vintage Fashion Faire. I rarely miss an opportunity to see a bunch of beautiful vintage pieces in one place, and this particular event had me oohing and ahhing every second. There were over fifty booths filled with treasures from every era, including some of the loveliest lace pieces I've ever seen. I managed to scoot out of there with only two things (a 1960's gingham dress coat and a 1950's yellow polka dot day dress), a small miracle considering how much damage I usually do at these things. Maybe not bringing my giant tote bag with me was a smart move, for my wallet at least! I will share photos of the outfit I wore soon... there was a sequined coat involved that you can see a glimpse of below, my favorite new find.

The highlight of the event was spotting this adorable one-eyed little bud. The cutest.

I have no idea what weird facial expression I was going for here, but I rather liked those glasses.

My style icon for the evening! This lady looked so amazing in her bright pink coat and marabou hat.

This amazing jazz band played on a stage filled with mid-century furniture, so good.

golden collective vintage sale

Yes, darlings... it's almost time for another Golden Collective vintage sale! Come join Isla, Rachel, Jen, Annalise and myself this Sunday at Clayton and Fulton in San Francisco for some amazing (and cheap!) vintage shopping, champagne, and good times.

A taste of the extreme awesomeness you can expect to witness...

spring fling

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Bold Italic's Spring Fling, which was like a fantasy high school dance but ten times better. Dusty Stax played every single oldies love song you've ever swooned to and everyone was dolled up in their finest Spring duds. Jen, Christina, and Isla joined me in the photo booth along with a bunch of other babes. The only thing missing was a set of bleachers for sneaking under to make out. I wish parties like this happened every week!

a heavenly exposition

Every six months the magical Vintage Fashion Expo comes to town and my wallet explodes. One of the expo dates always falls right around my birthday, which means of course that I treat myself to a few beautiful new pieces. And by 'few' I mean a giant, stuffed bag full. This year I found a 1960's green lace vest and matching pants (seriously, best outfit ever), a pale pink sparkly 1970's blouse, several 1950's circle skirts, a brown 1950's cardigan, an I. Magnin hat in the prettiest shade of rusty orange, and a tote bag that looks like the Kool-Aid mascot (just as crazy as it sounds). Birthday money well spent, I say.

another golden collective sale

For all you vintage lovers: the Golden Collective (which is comprised of Isla, Rachel, Annalise, Jen, and myself) is having another vintage clothing sale this Sunday, March 18th, on Clayton and Fulton in San Francisco. We'll be in the garage on the corner peddling our amazing vintage finds, serving sloppy mimosas, spinning records, and generally being silly. Come say hello and do a bit of shopping, and if you'd like to know more about our collective you can read our Bold Italic interview!

gift of garb vintage market

My friend Abby organized an amazing vintage flea market featuring lots of San Francisco dealers and it's happening tomorrow! Sadly I won't be able to go because I have to work, otherwise I'd be there happily emptying my wallet. But you should go if you're in the area because there will be lots of pretty things. Fortunately I will be going to the Alameda Antiques Faire on Sunday, which is particularly exciting because I haven't been in months (mostly because I've been overstocked for the shop). If you happen to see me there dragging my giant neon green tote bag around please say hello!
