perfectly illustrated

I'm completely in love with my new duvet cover from Schoolhouse Electric & Supply Co. The beautiful illustration is by artist Leah Duncan, a new favorite of mine. The red sandals are also newly acquired, from & Other Stories. I've got that spring fever that makes me want to buy all new things for my apartment and closet and clear out the old. Dangerous for my wallet, but quite fun for me. Oh, and I definitely didn't coax Donut into posing for these photos, she did that all on her own (she's a ham like her mom).

falling into place

A few photos of the main living area in my apartment, which I'm still rearranging constantly because I can't help myself. It feels mostly complete, and definitely cozy. The new chartreuse velvet couch was won at an Anthropologie silent auction last week and makes a good buddy for my other velvet couch. Is there such a thing as too much velvet? Maybe don't answer that. Now I just need a few more giant plants in here and I'll be good!

green all over

A vegetable-hued manicure was just the thing to go with this crazy vintage lace pants & vest set, a major score from the Vintage Fashion Expo in San Francisco a few years back. I hardly ever wear the pants half of it, but I figured I would celebrate the last few hours of warm-ish weather here in Philly with one of my wackier ensembles. The fake teeth (last spotted a few posts ago) will undoubtedly make an appearance again soon because I just can't get enough Halloween fun.

good as gold

I'm obsessed with these dreamy gold heels from Anthropologie. They pretty much check all of my boxes right now in the shoe department, and I can't wait to break them in. I think Donut quite likes them too!

A vintage dress found at the Brimfield flea market and a bit of loving from Donut, what more could a girl need?

bedroom eyes

photos by kristin cofer

A few more bedroom photos by Kristin Cofer, who is quite talented at gently coercing one into removing a robe here, flashing a devious glance there. And of course a photo shoot in my bedroom would not be complete without a guest appearance by Donut, the hammiest of all cats. Like mother like daughter?

My apartment is slowly filling up with boxes. I have wrapped an unsettling amount of milk glass vases and wiped the dust off some pretty funny little knick knacks that I had almost forgotten about, even though they have been in plain sight. I haven't yet tackled my dress closet and I'm dreading it. My friend Kristin Cofer (who shot these photos of me for ModCloth and Benefit) came over to photograph me in my bedroom and on my roof right before I started to pack, sort of as a tribute to my San Francisco home. I wore this flouncy little Geronimo frock from Audrey Grace Boutique that was made for dancing and spinning, definitely my kind of dress and just the thing for a few farewell portraits.
