I've acquired lots of lovely new things this month, which makes me think that January should be a month for cutting back on shopping. But that probably won't happen. I bought the cozy knit hats above from ASOS (all of them on sale for crazy cheap) because it occurred to me that I have plenty of fancy vintage hats but very few that will actually serve me in cold weather. And then I added to the fancy hat collection with the two beauties below (the pale satin one is from Bohemian Bisoux Vintage and the feathered fascinator from Female Hysteria). The two dresses in the last photo were found on a vintage shopping adventure in Hollywood a few weeks ago with Crystal as my tour guide. I also bought a 1950's bright red chiffon skirt, a 1940's pale blue party dress and a 1960's white lace dress as Christmas presents for myself. Sometimes I'm quite good at showering myself with gifts.

audrey grace: a dream boutique
Audrey Grace is a dream store for ladies like myself who live for ruffles, lace and all things feminine. The lovely proprietress, Jaclyn, opened Audrey Grace as a pop-up shop in Jackson, MS and filled it to the brim with the loveliest clothing, accessories and art from some of my favorites: Alexandra Grecco, Fieldguided, Nadinoo, Kelsey Genna, Silent Sundays and so many more. I even contributed a few pretty vintage pieces from Fancy Fine Vintage. If you're in the area you must stop by and drink in all the lovelieness. And if you're far, far away like me you can dream about the day when Jaclyn opens a permanent shop, hopefully online! She was kind enough to answer a few questions about the Audrey Grace Boutique below.
Who is the Audrey Grace girl?
Someone who loves fashion, discovering new designers, collects fashion and art and reads Lula magazine!
What inspired you to open a pop-up shop?
I thought it was a great idea to test out the market. I have visited some beautiful pop up shops before, such as the Elizabeth Lau shop in London and The Loved One pop up store in New York.
Do you have plans to do something more permanent with Audrey Grace?
Perhaps an online store? I hopefully do! I'm in the process of setting up an online shop. And I hope to do something with Audrey Grace in New York soon.
What movies and books have inspired you the most sartorially?
Marie Antoinette directed by Sofia Coppola, The Virgin Suicides, I Capture The Castle, My Week With Marilyn, The Great Gatsby, Picnic at Hanging Rock, I love visually stunning films! I haven't read as much as I'd like to recently, but I read alot of magazines. And my favorite photographer is Tim Walker.
You can visit the Audrey Grace Boutique blog here and read my own interview here!

a christmas shindig
What's a holiday party without mistletoe, fifteen plates of cookies, and two fluffy bunnies? The lovely Jen hosted a Christmas party at her place and it couldn't have been more perfectly perfect. We danced, we drank champagne, we took silly photos... you know, the usual. We even had two special guests from out of town, the adorable Kala and Bruklyn. I'm happy to have friends that love celebrating the holidays as much as I do!
A vintage lace dress and fancy hair leftover from a ModCloth photo shoot.
Jen was the perfect hostess, as always!
Annalise in the cutest holiday dress ever.
Christina, lady of a thousand faces.
Bruk & Kala, the cutest!

fringe benefits
necklace vintage, flea market
shoes vintage
When darling Maryanne of House of Maryanne Vintage said she wanted to send me a velvet kimono to style I was a bit skeptical. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Stevie Nicks... I just didn't know if that fringey bohemian style would clash with most of my wardrobe. And then I considered my wardrobe, my crazy bursting-open wardrobe, and realized that there is no such thing as clashing anymore. A velvet kimono? Sign me up! I can imagine wearing it over some pretty little lace nightgown while putzing about my apartment, but I also love it with this green dress. You can snag a lovely kimono for yourself here. I can guarantee that it's super fun to spin around and around in.
I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and happy holidays all around! xo
P.S. I will be announcing the winners of the two holiday giveaways on Facebook later today!

oh so merry

I know, it's ridiculously short. I don't recommend wearing something this short if you happen to be taking photos across the street from a parking garage where twenty dudes work, because they will whistle and holler until your cheeks are bright red. Apparently the fact that this dress was clearly made for a husky little girl was trumped by the shortness. I found it at a thrift store about a year ago and this seems like the perfect time of year to wear it. I feel like I should be holding a mug of hot chocolate and standing in a pile of snow, but San Francisco is breaking the weather rules as usual and giving us lots of sunshine. Can't complain!
I hope the holidays have been treating you lovelies well so far... I'm heading up north to Santa Rosa tomorrow evening to spend some time with my family. Excited to play a few heated rounds of Trivial Pursuit with my favorite people in the world!
