These photos are from the Refinery29 Shop Crawl I went to a few weeks ago. I forgot my camera at home (bad blogger!) so the lovely Annalise, my date for the night, took these for me. The highlight of the evening (second only to the free drinks at each shop) was finally meeting Annabel of Blushing Ambition. She was just as adorable and sweet in person as I imagined she would be. I managed to keep my wallet in my purse for most of the evening, only pulling it out at Bell Jar to buy a tiered peach chiffon dream dress that I'd been eyeing for some time... glad it's finally mine!

San Francisco has been delightfully sunny for the past few weeks and I have done my best to take advantage of it. These photos were shot in Golden Gate park after I saw the Balenciaga exhibit at the de Young Museum. I probably don't even need to say that it was amazing, but it was so amazing. I gasped every ten seconds and imagined wearing every beautiful dress to some fantasy party. I wore a favorite red cardigan I found at the flea market with a pink blouse and skirt (a color combination I dedicated a whole post to) and that white vintage tote bag I seem to be carrying every day. I just received this adorable bag in the mail so I promise I'll be switching it up soon!

happy mother's day!

My mom is one cool lady and she'll be the first to tell you so. She is a secret karaoke lover, master gardener, teller of bad (read: awesome) jokes, and hands down my number one fan (which is kind of her job but still). She also looks pretty magical on a windy day! I have countless "cool mom" stories, but my favorite one will always be the time she was standing outside of my bedroom window (in high school, when I still lived with my parents) on a sunny day and called up to me, "It's pretty Slim Shady out here!" (followed by much guffawing). Thanks for always cracking me up and being my favorite lady, Mom. And Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies who may be reading this!

day trip: sonoma

dress  vintage

Last week I went on an amazing day trip to Sonoma County with Jen. I grew up in Santa Rosa so I'm always happy to visit all the thrift and vintage shops I frequented in my youth. The weather was perfect and I found many goodies (mostly for the shop but I snagged a few for myself too). It was nice to get out of the city for a day and spend it digging through old things with a lovely gal.

Like the Hello Kitty band-aid? That's the kind of thing I buy on Target shopping sprees.

Adorable Jen, my traveling companion. She's smiling because we had In N' Out for lunch.

I bought two dresses at our first stop: Hot Couture, where I've been shopping since I was 14.

The prettiest pink dress. Too bad it was XXS!

Shoe heaven at a thrift store.

Thank goodness for shopping carts! I went a liiiittle bit nuts.

I got into a fist fight with that old man shortly after this was taken because he tried taking my loot. (Not really.)

Don't wanna know.
