a floral collection

I am forever collecting vintage millinery flowers, wherever I can find them. The two on the right were dug out of an old hat box at the Golden Nugget Flea in Lambertville, NJ, and the lovely specimen on the left was found at the Alameda Flea Market back home. I have a pretty decently sized pile of these now and I usually try to leave them scattered about on my vanity so that I can admire them. There is something about the fading colors and frayed edges that draws me in.

estate sale

I'm moving to a new apartment in a month, which means it's time for a Fancy Fine estate sale! I will be listing a few odds and ends over the next few weeks, both on Etsy and through Instagram, starting with these three beauties from the 1940's. They all have a bit of wear and tear and are being sold 'as is' but I think anyone with a bit of sewing skills (or a great alterations place) can find these a lovely new home. They are $20 apiece, or $40 for all three, plus $9 shipping domestic or $23 shipping international. All three would fit a modern size 4/6, up to a 34" bust, 27" waist, and 37" hips. Email me at hi@ashleyording.com if you are interested!  SOLD SOLD SOLD!

Here are the details about each one...

Pale blue lace / discoloration all over, a few holes here and there. Has lovely snaps on the side.

Yellow silk / minor discoloration, a few tiny holes, the hem has come loose, small stains, and the gathering at the right shoulder has loosened.

Ivory silk with velvet eyelet collar / collar in amazing condition, zipper is totally busted (needs to be replaced), some larger holes in the skirt, staining here and there.

It's pretty much impossible to wear an Alexandra Grecco tulle skirt and not want to jump around like the happiest fool. I do this anyways, but wearing this frothy dream skirt makes it ten times more satisfying. I'm lucky enough to know the (devastatingly pretty) lady behind the label, and I can safely say that Alexandra is just as lovely, feminine, and charming as her clothing. And hey, I'm not just saying this because she sent me this tulle perfection! This skirt is a happy addition to my wardrobe and just the thing to celebrate the (finally!) warm weather here in Philadelphia.
