fancy friends #04: allegra juliet

It's been some time since I did a Fancy Friends feature (ahem), but now felt like the ideal time for part four featuring none other than the dreamboat Allegra. She and I met in the most modern of ways (through the internet, of course!) but there is absolutely nothing modern about her dreamy apartment, which is just around the corner from my own. It's filled to the brim with objects both beautiful and slightly spooky, a perfect mix that is imbued with personality. Allegra lives with two funny cats named Violet (who happily posed for photos) and Rupert (who hid the entire time) and works at a thrift store where she is constantly finding covetable bits and bobs for her place. She also studies fashion design and I look forward to the day when she will create all kinds of perfectly witchy and vintage-inspired costumes that will one day become vintage treasures in their own right.

Follow Allegra on Instagram and be sure to peek at her magical tumblr here!

hat ladies

feathered hat  vintage from bohemian bisoux
sequined hat  vintage from flea market
velvet fascinator  vintage from allegra's closet

The charming and adorable Allegra lives around the corner from me in Philadelphia, which means many dress up parties, picnics, and other girly (and often wine-fueled) adventures. Tomorrow we have a date to wander around the city taking silly photos, which reminded me to share these last few images from our previous shoot that involved many hat changes and a few sly winks.

hello, san francisco

My new Orla Kiely purse bursting with randomness, including a bear shaped tape measure and a plastic gem wine stopper purchased at Daiso.

My makeshift closet for the week.

The adorable Hana Haley during our photo shoot in Pacific Heights.

Sandwiched between the beautiful Annalise and Rachel.

Bardot dream hair becoming a reality thanks to Shana.

These are just a few snaps from my recent trip home to San Francisco. I was lucky enough to crash for the week in a friend's beautiful victorian home, complete with beaded lamps and taxidermy, as well as shoot with two of my favorite SF photographers (Joshua Cobos and Hana Haley). I had my hair magically transformed into my Bardot dream 'do by Shana Astrachan of Fox and Doll, ran around wine country with my family, sang a million karaoke songs, found my ultimate dream dress at Wasteland, took purikura photos with a few of my favorite girls, and generally just felt myself bursting with a whole lotta love for the city I used to call home. It was a lovely time spent with lovely people and I can't wait for the next trip back around the holidays.
