vintage shopping tour part one: haight street

Video by Claudia Escobar, Music by Jonathan Dahn

A few months ago I started planning a little video series with the lovely Claudia Escobar (who shot this closet tour video) that would feature various San Francisco neighborhoods and my favorite vintage and thrift shops. Our first collaboration features a few shops on Haight Street, which is probably my favorite destination in the city for old treasures. Aside from hating the sound of my own chipmunk voice I think it perfectly captures what my vintage shopping adventures are like, specifically all the twirling about, doing super suave moves like Going Down in an Elevator, and generally being a dweeb. I'm excited to feature other neighborhoods like Hayes Valley and the Mission in the future. A big thank you to Refinery29 for featuring the video here!

Oh my gosh. You're so cute! :] I love this feature, very artistic and informative. Don't live in San Fran but I definitely need to check out Haight Street if I ever visit to go vintage shopping. :]

PS. You do NOT have a chipmunk voice. You're a natural!

Aw, the shoe part made me smile! When I come to visit in San Fran you'll have to take me to Wasteland, so we can laugh trying on too-tiny vintage pretties for out big feet ;)

Did you produce this yourself? So pro! It looks beautiful...don't worry, I hate hearing my voice too. Yours is deep and mellifluous like the sea.

this was a great video! When I first visited SF a couple of years ago and got off the bus at Haight Street I think I gave a small scream and had to be dragged away two hours later. So good. Also you don't sound like a chipmunk! to my British ears you actually sound quite like Zoey Deschanel in New girl.

Ah sigh! I am from that area-- moved out to the mountains of Tennessee years ago, but every so often I miss my city by the Bay! Haight was a hangout-- how sweet to see it is still classy~*
