shop showcase: vintage strings
Kelly of Vintage Strings has a knack for hunting down the coolest vintage. It doesn't hurt either that she models everything herself, looking cute as a button in everything from little 40's suits to slouchy 90's tops. Everything in her shop is affordably priced, and on top of that she's currently offering 15% off to readers if you enter the code BLOGLOVE at checkout! Be sure to take a peek at her blog too, she's constantly posting super lovely outfit photos that feature her tomboy style with a feminine twist.

lady date
dress purple deer vintage
A few weekends ago I spent a wonderful afternoon with Jen and Annalise of Hummingbird Girls and Rachel of Mousevox Vintage. It started with brunch at Bar Tartine and then turned into a full-on shopping tour of the Mission (with stops at Candystore, Bell Jar, Idol Vintage and Clothes Contact). The ultimate lady date!
This evening I'm going to be making my way through Refinery29's Shop Crawl. Hopefully I will see some of you along the way, and if you happen to spot me (cocktail in hand) please say hello!

home life
Donut, my little buddy.
My roommate's cat Claudine and beautiful hats from Bohemian Bisoux Vintage.
Cute heart stickers from We Heart Paper, vintage buttons, and a lace bow from an estate sale.
This happens daily but never ceases to make me giggle.
A sweet little hat I bought at the Vintage Fashion Expo.
Some of my hat collection... the one with fruits is from Bohemian Bisoux and the others are from flea markets.
A rack full of pretty dresses that will make their way into the shop very soon... the next few updates are going to be BEYOND amazing!

This round of Fancy Fine Vintage is all tops under $50 and it's a pretty eclectic mix, something for everyone. The lovely new model is my dear friend Abby. She has her own Etsy shop called Cakeshop Vintage which is full of covetable things, take a peek! Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates it, and Happy Sunday to those who don't!

a flea day
dress vintage
hat j. crew
sunglasses vintage
tote bag marc by marc jacobs
If I look semi-crazed in some of these photos it's because flea markets make me that way. Something comes unhinged in me as soon as I see those rows of vendors, I almost want to skip through the entire thing because I'm so excited to be there. These were taken at the Alameda Flea Market a few weeks ago, one of my favorites. The weather was perfect, I was wearing one of my favorite dresses, Nicole was by my side, and my giant tote bag quickly filled up to the brim. I happily spent five hours pawing through everything and I could have stayed for the rest of the day if they hadn't started to pack up. I guess I was made to live the life of a crazy flea market troll!

navy + lavender
cardigan vintage
blouse thrifted
skirt vintage
shoes vintage ferragamo
There are certain colors I never gravitate towards clothing-wise and purple is definitely one of them. I like it just fine as a color but I've never been drawn to purple clothing. That is, until I laid eyes on this lovely lavender hued skirt. It stands out in my wardrobe of navy, cream, beige and rust but it was too pretty to pass up. It pairs rather well with this funny navy blouse that I dug up at a thrift store (and will probably put in the shop soon) and a beautiful white vintage 1940's bag from one of my favorite shops, Dear Golden Vintage. Now, does anyone want to come over and give me a bang trim so I don't look so darn scruffy anymore?
