I arrived in New York late last night and was greeted by rainy weather but I'm too excited to care. I haven't visited this city for years and I'm so eager to explore new spots and meet a bunch of amazing ladies. I'm currently camped out in Emily's living room, petting her two fluffy cats and plotting where we're going to sing karaoke this evening... any suggestions?

on a whim

I've been thinking a lot about what to pack for my trip to New York next week and it's making me anxious. I've set aside a few fancier vintage dresses that I haven't worn yet, but just when I think I may have narrowed it down I start to rediscover this or that treasure in my closet. When I get dressed in the morning it's almost always on a whim, so trying to plan it out in advance is strange for me. I wish I could just bring everything with me so I could leave all those sartorial decisions for the last minute before running out the door.

a tea party, part two

Here are a few photos from the Modcloth tea party (most shot by me, a few by Kristin Cofer). I found myself back in the same room yesterday for another photo shoot, this one Winter themed and also shot by Kristin. I got to wear two amazing dresses, dance around in front of the camera to "Magic Dance" (the David Bowie song from Labyrinth), and leave with my hair in an amazing 60's bouffant style. Not too shabby.

Sometimes I feel like every photo shoot might as well be a dance party. The lovely Jen took these photos and made me laugh like a fool the entire time. We had just come from a tea party hosted by the amazing gals at Modcloth where we were completely spoiled with piles of tasty treats.
