country mouse

scarf  asos
coat  thrifted
sweater  zara
turtleneck  j. crew
skirt  anthropologie
shoes  vintage ferragamo

I've always said that I'm a city mouse through and through. But after moving to the east coast and taking the time to carefully explore the small towns surrounding Philadelphia I'm feeling a bit more of that country lovin'. The rows and rows of trees, dilapidated houses mixed up with beautiful Victorian mansions, all that space to roam, and so many little antique stores it would blow your mind. I'm not trading in skyscrapers and my one bedroom apartment in the thick of things just yet, but more and more I could picture having my own little world surrounded by nature, somewhere to get my Ferragamos nice and dirty.

I always considered myself a city person as well until I moved to a small village in the south of France. There, the food tasted better & the days were quiet and slow. I'm living in Paris now, which I love for totally different reasons, but it made me realize I need a little of the countryside in my life, too.

These pictures are so lovely. I totally understand what you mean about city living versus country living. I love the accessibility of the city, but I love being surrounded by nature!

as a mountain girl who made the move to the city, I swear up and down that i'll never go back. but sometimes...just sometimes...i miss the stillness and the space. the room to roam and be alone is something the city doesn't really have and there are times when I really miss being able to just disappear into nature.

Why O why is this amazing building delapidated and unloved?! Very Grey Gardens, so sadly neglected but beautiful.
