vintage fashion expo heaven

Twice a year my favorite event ever comes to San Francisco: the Vintage Fashion Expo. I haven't missed one since I started going about eight years ago, and every time I end up finding the most beautiful  pieces that become staples in my wardrobe. This year was no exception: a gorgeous nude lace dress from the 20's, a gold heart locket necklace that I've been wearing every day, a sheer white polka dot bed jacket, a black and white gingham 50's sundress, and more that I can't even remember right now. Basically I completely lost my mind in a haze of loveliness. What could possibly be better? (Well, lunch at Zuni Cafe afterwards could be a close second place.)

Jen (Hummingbird Girls) and Nicole (Fashion Forestry) looking dolled up and amazing as always.

I was wearing all vintage... a silk dress from the 30's and a 60's coat.

On the bottom left you can spy my giant green shopping tote... which was overflowing by the time I left! Goodbye $$$!

Wow. How did you get all those pictures? I remember a lot of the sellers getting all crazy up in my face when I tried to take pictures last year so I didn't even try this time. I SO wish that I could have gone with you lovely ladies. Darn work. I had to go all by my lonesome on Sunday. I think I got some good deals though. :D
XOXO

I was in heaven that day. But I often looked at all those pretty dresses that I felt too guilty to spend money on. I can dream, I can dream. xoxo

It's been fun seeing posts about the Vintage Fashion Expo floating around the various blogs I follow-- can't wait to see photos of your treasures and how you style them.

You're lucky to have many vintage lovin' pals to shop with you! Also, I'm always amazed at Nicole's novelty purses, including the castle one pictured here!

My man has been telling me he wants to move from Australia to SF, and this makes me want to go too! We have nothing like this where I live so I have to live out all my vintage clothes fantasties online. Sigh!
