a flea day

Few things give me more pleasure than spending five straight hours at a flea market. I caught a ride to the Alameda flea last weekend with the lovely Hummingbird Girls, Annalise and Jen, and we merrily picked and pawed our way through the hundreds of stalls. After a few hours in the sun (it was a miraculously hot day) we were communicating solely in grunts, squeals and moans. There was also quite a bit of profanity whenever we stumbled upon a particularly exciting rack of clothes ("Look at this fucking amazing dress!") and plenty of flea market weirdos to bond with. In the end I filled up that yellow tote bag I'm carrying in the photos above, so much that I could barely drag it back to the car. And yes, I did buy the silly stuffed peach toy.

dress  vintage
hat  vintage
belt  thrifted
purse  zara
sunglasses  h&m
shoes  vintage ferragamo

Annalise looked like a doll, as always.

Wind + wrap dress = lots of eeks

How darling is Jen? I wanted to steal those shoes right off her feet.

Pretty sure I swore like a vintage-obsessed sailor when I spotted this rack...

Jen bought this magical parasol and instantly became the envy of every lady there.

Now I am just hanging out to see what gems you found! (Apart from the amazing peach toy of course).

I love your hat - more bows the better!

aww. Such a fun day! I wish the Alameda Flea Market was every weekend so we could buy magical brooches and dreamy dresses. I want to use that parasol daily...maybe I will bring it to school tomorrow. xoxo

Oh the Alameda flea market! I never did have anyone to truly appreciate it with and thus never got to really appreciate it myself. *sigh*

I *love* that your hat and your sunglasses! And the dress is lovely. Such a perfect little ensemble for a day at the flea market!

I was planning on going to the flea markets soon, but I think my local ones were a bit dampened by the floods! Oh well :)
