mermaid pleats

blouse  vintage
skirt  c/o lulu's
purse  pomp & pride
boots  chie mihara

You can't quite tell in these photos but this skirt is downright shimmery. It's basically the dream skirt of five year old girls everywhere and I couldn't love it more. The lovely ladies at Lulu's sent it to me and also did a sweet little feature on Fancy Fine here. The weather here in San Francisco is finally feeling like an actual Summer... hopefully you won't see any more coats or tights around here for a while to come!

I couldn't resist photographing Lauren in her glamorous vintage coat, all done up for a dinner date with yours truly. We feasted and drank champagne and then danced with strangers at the Makeout Room to goofy funk music. I'm pretty sure we had everyone there thinking we were a couple. Lucky me, right?

rust + roses

cardigan  thrifted
blouse  thrifted
skirt  vintage from kennedy holmes
purse  vintage from omnia wears
cameo necklace  vintage
long necklace  noble town vintage
shoes  vintage ferragamo

A bit of cozy, nubby rust-colored goodness paired with one of my favorite lace blouses and a new-to-me tiered skirt covered in pretty roses. I wore this on a random day adventure with a friend and we happened to stumble upon an estate sale. I didn't end up buying anything but there were plenty of lovely things to photograph. I'm quite a nosy person so I love nothing more than poking around someone's home and taking mental inventory of their belongings. It's especially fascinating to see more personal things like photo albums and toiletries, all of it up for grabs. Sometimes I wonder (rather morbidly) what someone might think if they were going through my belongings after I died, what would be taken and what would be left behind. Although at that point I will probably need some kind of museum erected just for the amount of vintage I have amassed...

the gingham dream dress

Every so often I have to dedicate an entire post to one item from Fancy Fine Vintage because it's that good. This heartbreakingly adorable number is one of my favorite finds so far. Made of a soft navy blue and white gingham cotton with the sweetest oversized Peter Pan collar and a large bow right in the center. I desperately wanted to keep this dress for myself (greedy!) but sadly it just flattened my chest. That means some lucky, small-busted lady can give it a new home! You can see the Etsy listing here.
