rust + roses

cardigan  thrifted
blouse  thrifted
skirt  vintage from kennedy holmes
purse  vintage from omnia wears
cameo necklace  vintage
long necklace  noble town vintage
shoes  vintage ferragamo

A bit of cozy, nubby rust-colored goodness paired with one of my favorite lace blouses and a new-to-me tiered skirt covered in pretty roses. I wore this on a random day adventure with a friend and we happened to stumble upon an estate sale. I didn't end up buying anything but there were plenty of lovely things to photograph. I'm quite a nosy person so I love nothing more than poking around someone's home and taking mental inventory of their belongings. It's especially fascinating to see more personal things like photo albums and toiletries, all of it up for grabs. Sometimes I wonder (rather morbidly) what someone might think if they were going through my belongings after I died, what would be taken and what would be left behind. Although at that point I will probably need some kind of museum erected just for the amount of vintage I have amassed...

I love everything about this look on you! The rust and the lace and the roses are perfect! I think everyone secretly has those thoughts about estate sales . . . .

I love the way you work with colours! But the fact your sporting tights now worries me! I am heading to SF in a month and was hoping for a bit of summer sun!!

I've only ever been to one estate sale, and while I found some great vintage things, I couldn't help wondering the same thing about someone going through my things after I've died. I think it's so sad to see family photos out for sale, too. On a brighter note, that dog picture is pretty cute!
