romance was born

I stumbled upon the Australian clothing line Romance Was Born while poking around Pinterest and it was the fantastically magical outfit above that caught my eye and inspired me to immediately search for the rest of the lookbook. I have my moments when I only want to wear sparkly, silly, slightly crazy things, and this outfit perfectly fits into my current sartorial fantasies. I want wacky, I want clothes that aren't serious.

The rest of the Autumn Winter 2012 collection is just as stunning, with so many perfect full skirted shapes and interesting color combos. And the tights! Whoever styled these outfits is clearly a genius because every color is wonderful (and they've got my number when it comes to rusty hued hosiery). The inspiration for this collection, according to the Romance Was Born web site, was scouts and girl guides, vintage tapestry, and the freedom and glamour of the 1970's. I am so completely sold.

OH my gosh, these are amazing. The rainbow capes? It seems like most of my favourite designers lately are coming out of Australia.

Oh wow! Thanks for sharing this! I'm especially in love with the second last look with the burnt orange tights, but they're all pretty amazing.
