you were meant for me

I wear this camel coat perhaps more than any other. It's short but roomy enough to wear over pouffy-sleeved things and thick sweaters and it only set me back $8 at my favorite thrift store. I've been slacking a bit in the thrifting department lately but that is all about to change because, for at least the next few months, I'm going to be focusing most of my time on Fancy Fine Vintage. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while and I feel like the time has come to give it a go. I'm a bit nervous about everything but I'm also incredibly excited about the change and committing myself to doing what I love the most. And who knows what will happen down the road...

What is your dream job?

I love how well you can pull off short things!! So cute. My dream job involves being a professional pizza taster and a real ballerina at the same time. Haha

Brilliant news that you are going to be focusing your efforts on Fancy Fine vintage - I'm sure it'll pay off fantastically. I've just made the decision to cut down on my hours in the office to help me follow some of my own dreams. Eek, exciting and terrifying all at once!

novelist! and while I'm not in a position to be committing to it 100% I've really been upping the ante recently too. Best of luck on your vintage ventures.

Also, camel and mint are wonderful together and I love that blouse on you!

That would be my dream job. Sigh. One day maybe . . .

I love your mint colored satchel and this adorable dress. The coat is great too and for $8, a total steal. This is what I love about thrifting!

The mint purse is terribly cute!

The coat is adorable and so chic! I love the 3/4 sleeves and how it must fit with your dresses! Your dress and blouse are stunning too!! You have such an eye for vintage pieces...

And its so great you are going to get a chance to focus on your vintage store! I remember when I first discovered your blog and shop, you had these amazing 'mushroom pants' and they were snatched up before I made the final decision how badly I wanted them! But since then, I have been looking for 'mushroom' clothes and using that color description :) You are so talented, your shop is stunning and I wish you all the luck with it!!

My dream job is something in fashion, and new media. I just landed a new media marketing internship here in Pittsburgh, but its in entertainment, not fashion...but baby steps, right!? :)

I agree with Jennifer, you look so so darling!
It's great that you'll be able to spend more time on your vintage shop, I know you might feel a bit nervous right now, but I'm sure that hours of fun are ahead waiting for you to embrace your new adventure!
As for my dream job, I feel very blessed as it's exactly what I'm doing right now: I wanted to be an animator and make cartoons since when I was a little girl, and eventually that dream came true :) It's very hard work but I'm happy every single day I can grab my pencil!

oh Ashley! What fabulous news! You should always follow your heart, indeed! You only live once, so you have to make the most of it by doing the things YOU love. I'm actually planning to do something similar at the end of summer... planning a move, going to finally STOP working in retail, and focus on my blog, new shop (you should look at : www.shopladyalamode.com) and figuring out what exactly I want! SO so proud of you, go girl!

So excited to hear you're focusing on Fancy Fine! I'm sure it's scary but it'll all pan out in the end (:

I am also desperately in love with those elbow patches on that cardi.
