white on beige on tan

dress  vintage
cardigan  vintage fashion expo
trench coat  thrifted
belt  thrifted
necklace vintage fashion expo
bag  thrifted
boots  anthropologie

My dad took these photos and shortly afterwards sang his first karaoke song ever: a duet of "I've Got You Babe" with none other than my mom. I can't even put into words just how incredibly, heart-warmingly adorable this was. The beaded cardigan in the photos is one of the pieces I bought at the Vintage Fashion Expo, although these photos don't quite do it justice. I think my parents are highly amused that I have a "style blog" and want so many photos of my clothes. And they should be amused, because it's a pretty funny concept. I will always feel like a dork posing for these outfit photos but I will keep doing it as long as I'm inspired to share my finds with you guys, and I hope that my fellow bloggers never stop sharing their own wardrobes and lives. Let's all continue to be giant dorks together!

Lovely outfit! It's true, I do feel like a dork posing for an outfit picture. That's the main reason I never show my face :).

It is a funny thing when you think about it - but just think, maybe ten years down the line you'll be able to look back on your blog and it'll be a recollection of alot of good times and very fancy clothes.

I think you have the wardrobe of dreams, Ashley, and am always glad to see your updates.

I love that dress! You always such pretty off-colors together.I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels so silly every time I take an outfit photo. Still it is pretty funny when you think about it.

I'm still new at this and keep thinking that the only way I'm going to get used to taking pictures of myself all the time is just to do it more... but I guess it's still weird after all this time?

I won't stop if you don't!

Love the outfit, I've been on a neutral theme lately.

The colours don't seem like they should work but they do, so well! & your little story is adorable!

*dies* those boots!! incredible. and i love your tights - where did you get them? the color is amazing!

and i definitely know what you mean. i still feel a bit self-conscious setting my little digital camera up on whatever flat surface i can find and posing in whatever public place all for the sake of blogging. it's probably best not to analyze the whole thing too deeply! otherwise we probably all would have to stop! :)

This is a gorgeous outfit...all of the neutral colors are beautiful and then with the pop of the belt-it's perfect. Also am in LOVE with these boots!
Love the story that goes with this post too...that is so cute that your Dad took these (even if he doesn't quite understand the idea of taking thousands of outift photos!) and that your parents sung a kareoke song together! Great uplifting happy-and gorgeous-post!

I always feel a little sheepish too, especially when people stare at you taking photos. It's also funny when you get caughy posing in front of someone's stoop, hee hee. Stay inspired - I love reading your posts! :)
