scallop me

photos by Lauren Muzzy

dress  c/o kelly shoe strings
tights  h&m
shoes  vintage ferragamo

I have long adored the sweet vintage ensembles of Kelly Lauren, who can pull off super feminine looks and masculine ones with equal aplomb. So needless to say I was quite excited when she sent me this amazing yellow lace dress from her too-cute shop, Kelly Shoe Strings. I love the unusual color and the scalloped trim, and I felt just the right amount of fancy for the day. My girl Lauren picked me up in her trusty white Volvo and we went to our favorite thrift stores and found many goodies. My favorite find of the day was a little girl's Christmas dress that happens to fit me perfectly (aside from being scandalously short) and makes me laugh every time I look at it.

Now this was the exact kind of yellow lace dress I was looking for all summer and never found, dagnamit! I'll try not to be too jealous that it ended up on you and not me (oops - just failed).

Thank you for stopping by and commenting, that was very sweet of you :) Next time bring Donut!

Pretty! Love the lace and the color :)

I'm curious where you like to go thrifting in San Francisco. Coming from out of town, I seem to always end up at the Salvation Army, Community Thrift, and Thrift Town in the Mission, which are always totally picked over. I end up finding way better stuff down here in the South Bay. I generally feel like the less urban the place, the better the thrifting. I always find the greatest stuff here in the 'burbs or small towns.

All that said, I always kind of dislike telling people where I thrift because I don't want any competition :P But if you don't regard it as super privileged info, I'd love some insight!
