I have to admit I'm enjoying the cold weather. I'm a gal who enjoys wearing many layers, as evidenced by these photos. You probably noticed a rather new addition here: boots. I've had the hardest time finding the perfect boots. When it comes down to it, I'm not much of a boot person, much in the same way that I'm not a pants person. I like boots on other women, but every time I try a pair on I just feel like an impostor. They're never quite right. And of course every pair that makes me think, "Oh I finally found the perfect ones!" end up being over $400. So what did I do? I broke down and went with the dream boots, the unattainable ones that I'll be paying back for who knows how long. But look at that dreamy suede in the perfect shade of caramely brown! And the contrasting laces! And the perfect chunky wooden heel! And the shape... don't even get me started on that beautiful shape! The search is over, my fancy friends. I bit the bullet. I found boots that don't make me feel like an asshole and I couldn't be happier with them.

P.S. Congratulations to Hannah, winner of the Purple Deer giveaway! And thanks to everyone who entered for your sweet comments!

Your hair looks angelic! (never cut it, btw.) I adore your boots. $400 is a lot, but you are otherwise thrifty, and they're soooo cute, so don't be too hard on yourself. love the mini blazer & then the plaid coat! It's too cold for my bones, but I'm glad you're enjoying it.

These colors are so pretty, especially with the addition of that coat! I love the delicate necklaces!

I love how your looks are always so austere but ingenious. It's definitely something to aspire to :)

Annnnd I can't say I've ever bought shoes even remotely that expensive, but there are definitely worse things you could spend 400 dollars on. Like red light camera tickets, for example... >_< Those boots suit you perfectly, and I'm sure you'll wear them forever :) Money well spent!

i think it's always a good idea to purchase something that you're in love with, even if it's a bit more expensive, instead of something that you're so-so about. you definitely won't have to worry about not wearing them!

Love the wee jacket, such a cute cut. You made me laugh - boots that don't make you feel like an asshole HA! Anyway, I have heard really good things about chie mihara so I'm sure you'll be really happy with them. Sometimes you've just gotta dish the cash. x

I love this outfit! Your boots are to die for and your coat is unbelievable. I've kinda lost faith in Zara lately though (as in today) when I found one of my fave dresses from there had a strap completely just unravel! Ugh, it was awful. As awful as clothes situations can be I guess.
