I've been creating a lot of piles lately. Piles of books to read, piles of gifts to wrap, piles of vintage clothes for my pop-up shop, piles of things to hand wash, piles of envelopes and blank business cards. I've been making piles in my head, too... piles of ideas, some silly and others exciting. Victor and I declared a few weeks ago that Wednesday nights will be Project Night. It feels good to sit down and make things happen, even if those things are small but long-neglected tasks. But a girl needs a break from her pile-making, so tonight I'm throwing on one of my fanciest dresses and heading to a cocktail party where a friend will be spinning old soul and jazz records. Perfect timing.

I love the image of you with the floral crown--you look soft and dreamy like an old painting.
I think piles happen during this time of year. Everything becomes unbelievably messy and hectic just in time for the new year, for our piles to be forced into projects and action. Wednesday Project night sounds exciting.
