rainy day blues

trench coat  thrifted
dress  vintage
belt  j. crew
brooch  vintage
umbrella  vista
rain boots  piperlime

I've been a busy girl lately... buying things for the shop like a madwoman with cash flying out of my wallet at every turn, photographing everything on my cute lady friends, making plans for upcoming photo shoots, and squeezing in a few rounds of karaoke whenever possible. I have an entire clothing rack of amazing vintage pieces to sell right now and I love just staring at all the pretty colors and fabrics side by side. Of course, my weak willpower means that I inevitably keep a few goodies for myself (like the pretty 1930's dress in these photos). But don't worry, I saved plenty for you.

P.S. I've been tumbling like crazy lately, take a peek.

pretty little things

I'm completely obsessed with vintage lingerie. I'm sure that's no stretch of your imagination considering my well-documented penchant for anything lacey, silky and sheer. I find myself more and more entranced by old pieces of lingerie that I find at flea markets and vintage sales and I love finding ways of sneaking them into outfits without being too immodest. And with more than half of my wardrobe in silky sheer territory I have to wear a slip pretty much every day anyways, leaving me free to stock up on them with the justification that "I'll wear this all the time!" The second photo above shows a tiny fraction of my lingerie collection (which I will admit is mostly comprised of pale pinks and creams). The beautiful vintage pieces are from the Met Museum's costume collection and I'm sure you have already seen the amazing sheer black vintage-inspired lingerie from The Loved One (which is even lovelier in person, if you can imagine). I remember reading an article about Betsey Johnson a long, long time ago and in it she mentioned that she collects lingerie and has a bunch of beautiful vintage slips in every color of the rainbow strung up all around her canopy bed. I've kept that image in my head for many years now.... heaven.

the eyelet dream dress

I just listed this amazing eyelet dress in the shop and I thought it was dreamy enough to deserve its own post. It's from the early 1970's and made of a crisp white cotton eyelet fabric. I'm in love with the pinafore style and the giant bow in the back. If this dress fit me I would keep it forever and ever, but sadly it does not. I hope that it finds a lovely home! Just click here to see the Etsy listing and lots more info.
