tabbisocks lookbook: part four

Photos by Isla Bell Murray

These are the final lookbook photos from my Little Red Riding Hood themed shoot for Tabbisocks. And, appropriately, these tights feature tiny Red Riding Hood herself! These photos make me long a bit for Fall and cape-wearing weather, although I'm still thoroughly  enjoying the warm Philadelphia summer. I just bought a giant box to keep all of my socks and tights in and looking at it makes me feel both embarrassed that I own such a crazy amount and excited to wear them all again.

shop showcase: lotus vintage

Sometimes I wish that my job was being paid to troll Etsy for pretty things. I devote a solid chunk of free time to this activity, it's about time I received some compensation! Well, sometimes stumbling upon some amazing new shop is compensation enough, as was the case with Lotus Vintage. Based in New York, this treasure trove is brimming with colorful printed dresses, skirts, and adorable hats, with a focus on finds from the 1960's through the 1990's.

Lotus Vintage is generously offering Fancy Fine readers 20% anything in the shop (excluding sale items) through September 4th using the code 'FANCY20.' This offer is good for domestic and international customers. I'm eyeing this gorgeous floral maxi dress amongst other things...

sponsor fancy fine in september!

August was such a blur! I can't even believe it's almost September, but that means it's sponsorship time again. If you have a vintage or handmade shop or some other interesting project that you'd like to promote please contact me at hi@ashleyording.com for rates and details. I love to work with endeavors both small and large as long they fit with my aesthetic. Don't be shy!

Oh, and that's a little slice of my new apartment above. It's coming along nicely!

philly girl

Well, the past month has been a hectic and happy blur of newness. I couldn't even begin to tell you what it's like, my entire existence uprooted, everything completely different than it was. I will say that moving across the country has been hard on the ole' blog. This is the first Philadelphia outfit post! It's been a long time coming, I know. I've been so excited to wear summer clothes every single day (a rarity in San Francisco) and not even think about tights and cardigans. I found this funny little dress at a flea market and hemmed it up (it used to be a maxi dress) but never intended to keep it until I suddenly had to pack everything up and this was thrown into a box. Now on the other side it seems like something I may just have to keep around for a while.

tabbisocks lookbook: part three

Photos by Isla Bell Murray

hat  vintage
dress  vintage
socks  california orange ankle socks from tabbisocks
heels  forever 21

Ah, this dress. These socks. This location. You would think this was perfectly planned out, but in fact it was a magical fluke. I threw on this dress in a parking lot, shielded by two helpful girls, and then off we walked into the woods with no clue that we would shortly stumble upon the most perfectly perfect place. It felt like a dream, one that I will not soon forget.

free shipping from fancy fine vintage

Fancy Fine Vintage is (finally!) back in business and to celebrate I'm offering free shipping through September 1st! Just enter the code 'FANCYFREESHIP' at checkout. There are lots of beautiful pieces in the shop, including some rather covetable dresses that I would totally keep if I had an inch of room left in my closet for one more dress. I may be a rabid collector but I still know that I can't keep all the pretty vintage for myself!

Happy shopping, dears!

fondly

Photos by Mitch Maher of Thread & Bones

The talented Mitch Maher shot these photos in my San Francisco apartment a few days before I moved across the country. You can see a few boxes here and there waiting for my many belongings to be placed inside, a rather sad sight for me. These photos feel like the end of a decade. I move into my new apartment on Friday and I couldn't be more excited to finally have all my things again (especially the dresses!) and find a new spot for everything. I'm done with living out of a suitcase, although it has made getting dressed a much quicker affair in the morning. I will always miss my San Francisco nest but I have high hopes for my new place... I can't wait to share it with you!
